About Our Church

What We Believe

About God

With other Presbyterians, we believe that God,the

Creator of the universe, is a personal God who has come to us in the person of Jesus Christ and as Savior and Lord. We believe in the present and on-going work through the Holy Spirit active in the world today and that God makes possible the forgiveness of our sins through the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross, a destiny sealed by his ressurection. This assurance of life everlasting is for all who trust Jesus as Savior and Lord.

About the Church

We believe  in the church, the universal company of Christ’s followers, and acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit in each person who trusts Christ as well as in the life of the church corporate for the carrying out of His commission to us. We celebrate the presence of God among us in worship together around the Word and Sacraments.

About the Bible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God, the only fully authoritative witness to God’s creative and sustaining power, culminating in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that the Scriptures offer us the most trustworthy guidance for life and for faith, following Jesus’ example.

About Creeds & Confessions

We believe that the church has spoken throughout history by way of creeds and confessions which express the beliefs of the church from their perspective in history. These statements are a credible, secondary authority for the church, under the light and direction of the Bible and do not rise to the authority of the Scriptures.

About the Future

We look forward with all other Christians to the day that Christ will return, as He promised, to gather his church to live in worship of God forevermore.

About Other Christians

As Presbyterians, we affirm the same essential beliefs affirmed by true Christian men and women the world over. At the same time we strongly encourage all the people of our congregation to wrestle with their understanding of the Christian faith through study, reflection and worship as members of the body of Christ.
